Rue Bois de Boulogne
The renovation of a private mansion is a unique experience that always brings with it its share of surprises. This illustrious building of more than 500 m2, nestled in the heart of the very noble 16th arrondissement, is no exception to the rule.
Formerly inhabited by a couple of French artists, this residence was bought by a promoter in order to be divided into several apartments spread over six floors. This renovation project is based on its initiators’ two wishes: to preserve the bohemian spirit of this home while optimizing the space. The creative approach for the redesign of this listed historical building was to achieve a modern transformation while preserving the ancient spirit of the building.
This marriage of old and new is a technical feat. The complex structure of the building and its foundations, partially in very poor condition, required major structural work. We proceeded to the redistribution of all the spaces for the entire building and then imagined the fittings and layouts room by room. Finally, the terrace roof, which was previously inaccessible, has been added to the top floor apartment and fitted out, thus completing an exceptional property.
