Transport direction of Tahiti
Studio Gaïa was involved in the contest launched by the Transport Department of Tahiti, to build, on virgin land, the offices of this territorial administration.
The project has been designed to adapt to its environment while optimizing the comfort of the occupants and energy consumption. The slight slope of the land has been accentuated in order to create an underground car park. This architecture of concealment minimizes visual pollution.
At each end of the building, in order to protect the office areas from noise pollution, two technical space in form of wooden shells have been designed as sound screens. The meeting rooms have been placed at the back of the building to allow good exposure to light while limiting the intake of external energy.
On the facades, large framed awnings tilt to let in light while protecting the premises from the heat. It is therefore a building designed for efficient and ecological use.
